Voting is now open for the 2005 Stargate Fan Awards!

You’ve spent hours in front of your computer screen reading and viewing the nominees…now the time has come to choose the best of the best. But first, a few
things to keep in mind.

You may vote only once in each category (with the exception the 7 Chevrons Award), so please read all of the directions and restrictions for voting BEFORE casting your votes. They are available here: http://www.stargatefanawards.com/regs.shtml

Any votes or voters not following the rules will be subject to disqualification and/or permanent exclusion from this and future awards.

Nothing will be removed from the ballots at this point and no changes can be made now that voting has begun. However if we've missed a spelling error or a broken link, please contact us.

Voting will be open through August 25, 2005. Late votes will *not* be accepted for *any* reason! So please don’t wait until the last minute only to discover your server is down or the power goes out on you.

This year’s 7 Chevrons Award will be for the best authors in the fandom. It is a blind ballot vote, meaning it works basically the same way as nominations for the rest of the Awards. Each person may vote for up to 3 authors for this award *only*.

Last, but not least, the awards wouldn’t be possible without all of the fans who participate. A huge thank you to everyone who nominated or participated in any
other way. We truly appreciate all of you!

That said, go forth and vote!

Sincerely,
The Stargate Fan Awards Team

Stargate SG-1 pulled from developer

Stargate SG-1 pulled from developer

JoWood cites quality issues as reason for canceling contract, action game's future uncertain.
Austrian publisher JoWood has terminated its contract with Perception, the Australian studio that was, until now, developing Stargate SG-1: The Alliance. As per the contract, all rights to the game, as well as the developed source code, have transferred to JoWood's possession. Namco was originally slated to release the action game to the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PC in North America this fall.

In the announcement, JoWood CEO Albert Seidl designated the game's quality as the primary issue that led to the contract's termination. Apparently, JoWood did not believe that Perception could produce a game that would both satisfy fans of the series and arrive on time. "In recent months we have invested a lot of time and resources in helping Perception finish the development, but we now simply have lost confidence in their ability to finish this project in time and sufficient quality," Seidl said.
