Amanda Tapping Interview, Part 2 up at Gateworld

Amanda Tapping Interview, Part 2 up at Gateworld

GW: What are you looking forward to in Season Ten? The 200th episode? The prestige of being the longest-running American sci-fi series?

AT: Well, all of that is wonderful. I'm actually really looking forward to the 200th episode, because I remember when we hit 100. And it seemed like such a massive milestone. Michael Shanks and I, we didn't have much to do in the 100th episode and we were kind of bummed out. So I hope we have a lot more to do in episode 200.There's a sense of pride there, for sure. There's a sense of pride -- "Wow, we're part of this thing." We're not responsible for the success necessarily. But we're a part of it and that's pretty freaking cool. But as for what's going to happen, I don't know. I don't know where I'm going to be, what I'm going to be doing. My hope is that she'll [Carter] be a full member of SG-1, fully functioning, a full player, and that the group dynamic will be strong and in place. That's my hope for Season Ten.But we'll see what happens! I'm proud that I'm a part of it. I've been a part of the franchise for a decade. I'll just go wherever they tell me to -- do whatever they tell me to do! "Shut up and do your job and be grateful." "Okay!" [Laughter]

Amanda Tapping is interviewed Gateworld

Amanda Tapping is interviewed at Gateworld.

EXCERPT:
At some point, speculation was rampant that Carter's duties would be split evenly between SG-1 and Atlantis. Tapping explains. "I think it's widely known that I've been asked to do both shows next year, but I have no idea to what capacity. Nobody's told me. I've heard rumors that I'm doing ten and ten but actually I don't think that that's true. All I was told when I negotiated was to be available for both shows. So I don't know if that means that Claudia's going to take on a bigger role and I will take on a lesser role in SG-1. I honestly have no idea.

WARNING: Spoilers for the current season. Do you...

WARNING: Spoilers for the current season.

Do you think Daniel Jackson is a bit miffed? Why, you ask? Well, Amanda Tappings character, Samantha Carter is apparently going to Stargate Atlantis. Hasn't Daniel been petitioning to go there for a long time.

So, what do you think Dr. Jackson will think?. He wanted to go to Atlantis when they first discovered the gate in Antarctica, and he wanted to go at the beginning of Season 9 before Vala ruined those plans. So, if Carter is going to be going back and forth to Atlantis, Daniel could be a little envious and a little disgruntled at not being given a similar opportunity. The question then becomes, will this cause friction between him and Carter or more likely between him and Mitchell or will he be all laid back with it.

Would you?

Stargate SG-1 Fan Film

The official website for "Stargate: The Bringer of War" fan film is now updated.. The Bringer of War is an Indie SG fan film that will be shot sometime in the next year. We'll be keeping the fans apprised of what's happening via the website. These are just some of what has been updated:

-New Forum Open

There is now a forum for the fan film. The film is still in it's infancy at the moment so don't expect much discussion, but feel free to leave any questions you may have for me or the crew there.

-First Look at Concept Art

Marietta Ivanov, one of the concept artists, has came up with various pieces of concept art for the film so far. Although the script is not yet finished, she has seen the early stages of it and has been able to come up with some work.

-Teaser Music Uploaded

A few months back Scott Buckley composed a teaser piece for the film. For a while he had been wanting to do a Stargate piece to show what he could do it. The producers had faith in him before they heard this...now they have blind faith. It's uploaded. Listen and let us know what you think!

'Stargate' holds fans' interest, begins new season

EXCERPT:

Now in its ninth season, "Stargate SG-1" continues to get better and better. Ben Browder, best known as John Cricthon from Farscape, joins the cast as Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell, the new leader of SG-1. Claudia Black, who played Aeryn, Critchon's love interest, is also on the show. In a recurring role as Vala, a con artist, her and Michael Shanks have great comic chemistry.

Respected actors Beau Bridges and Louis Gossett, Jr. are also on board. Bridges is Gen. Hank Landry, the new head of Stargate Command. Gossett is Gerak, a Goauld at odds with Teal'c over the Jaffa government.

In its sophomore season, "Atlantis" continues to get better also. Rainbow Sun Francks, who was Lt. Aiden Ford, was on recurring status. He was replaced by Jason Momoa as Ronon, a skilled fighter who is also a Wraith tracker. Best known as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner on "The X-Files," Mitch Pileggi has a recurring role as Col. Caldwell, who is in charge of the Daedulus, and always clashes with the Atlantis team.

New episodes for both shows will return next winter. "Atlantis" is already renewed for season three, while "SG-1" will return for season ten. This will make "Stargate SG-1" the longest-running science fiction series in television history, second to "The X-Files." Seasons 1-8 are out on DVD, while season one of "Atlantis" will be out this month. Or, if you can't get enough, then watch "Stargate SG-1" every weekday on the SciFi Channel from the beginning, or catch last season every weekend, the same time you can catch "Stargate Atlantis" freshman season.

The Sydney-based sound designer is part of a game-making team for sci-fi TV show Stargate SG-1

Sampaio is designing the sound for the show's spin-off computer game, Stargate: The Alliance. As well as implementing the dialogue and soundtrack for the entire game, the audio designer has created sound effects from some rather surprising sources.

Effects ranging from futuristic weaponry to the ambient sounds of alien landscapes have been derived from breaking dinner plates, spinning bicycle chains and recordings from the Australian bush.
