Stargates go on....

EXCERPT:

Now in its ninth season, "Stargate SG-1" continues to get better and better. Ben Browder, best known as John Cricthon from Farscape, joins the cast as Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell, the new leader of SG-1. Claudia Black, who played Aeryn, Critchon's love interest, is also on the show. In a recurring role as Vala, a con artist, her and Michael Shanks have great comic chemistry.

Respected actors Beau Bridges and Louis Gossett, Jr. are also on board. Bridges is Gen. Hank Landry, the new head of Stargate Command. Gossett is Gerak, a Goauld at odds with Teal'c over the Jaffa government.

In its sophomore season, "Atlantis" continues to get better also. Rainbow Sun Francks, who was Lt. Aiden Ford, was on recurring status. He was replaced by Jason Momoa as Ronon, a skilled fighter who is also a Wraith tracker. Best known as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner on "The X-Files," Mitch Pileggi has a recurring role as Col. Caldwell, who is in charge of the Daedulus, and always clashes with the Atlantis team.

New episodes for both shows will return next winter. "Atlantis" is already renewed for season three, while "SG-1" will return for season ten. This will make "Stargate SG-1" the longest-running science fiction series in television history, second to "The X-Files." Seasons 1-8 are out on DVD, while season one of "Atlantis" will be out this month. Or, if you can't get enough, then watch "Stargate SG-1" every weekday on the SciFi Channel from the beginning, or catch last season every weekend, the same time you can catch "Stargate Atlantis" freshman season.
