By way of Morjana (with our thanks) of the
Fans of Joe Flanigan Yahoo group comes this great spoiler about the upcoming season of Stargate Atlantis from the August issue of SciFi Magazine:
SPOILER ALERT----------------------------------
STARGATE ATLANTIS"The big change in Atlantis going forward is really the introduction
of Ronon (played by Jason Momoa), who is a new team member," said
executive producer Robert C. Cooper. "I don't want to say he's
exactly like Teal'c, but I think he will bring certain qualities to
the show that Christopher Judge brought to Stargate SG-1."
The new Atlantians will discover more about the Wraith as we go into
season tow, said Cooper. "We're going to be seeing a little bit more
behind the curtain of their culture and getting to understand how
they deal with each other."
With a ZPM to power the Stargate and a starship, the Daedalus, the
team on Atlantis will finally be in regular contact with Earth. "In
the event that it became necessary to send people home, [the
Daedalus] could then ferry people back from Earth, but that would
take two weeks. You're going to see some new faces, but it's not as
though we're going to be in day to day contact with Earth and having
regular comings and goings.
The Daedalus will be under the command of Col. Caldwell, The X-Files
Mitch Pileggi. The other notable cast change will be the evolving
role of Ford. "No, we're not losing him. His role is changing. I
don't want to spoil too much…He is right now slated to appear in four
episodes. We'll see where it goes from there."
Anyway, it all looks really good. Can't wait for the 15th of July!
