Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles, LLC and MGM have announced a new license agreement for action figures based on the popular and long-lived Sci-Fi Channel series, Stargate SG-1 and its popular spin-off, Stargate: Atlantis.

Stargate has been incredibly successful and we knew it was time to take advantage of both shows' continuing popularity."

Stargate SG-1 is currently airing its ninth season on the Sci-Fi Channel as part of their Sci-Fi Friday lineup while Stargate: Atlantis has entered its second season. Both series have received critical acclaim for their writing, acting, special effects and more. With no signs of slowing down and exceeding 2 million viewers per episode, there does not appear to be an end in sight for the Stargate world.

Specific product announcements, as well as timetables for their release dates, will be featured in future Diamond Select Toys communications.

New Interview With Torri Higginson At Gateworld

For more than a year she has entertained, delighted, and inspired Stargate Atlantis viewers as the can-do Dr. Elizabeth Weir. Having recently averting a drawn-out Wraith assault on the Ancient city of Atlantis, actress Torri Higginson sat down with GateWorld at The Bridge Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, where Atlantis is filmed.

In this interview Torri talks about the challenges of playing a strong female leader, the growth of her character over the show's first season, and her hopes for the current year -- including her desire for a more developed relationship with Rachel Luttrell's Teyla Emmagan. She also talks about sharing power with Colonel Steven Caldwell, and takes time to poke fun at co-star David Nykl and the development she hopes will emerge between Weir and Dr. Zelenka.

Stargate SG-1 Renewed for 10th Season !

Fans of the smash sci-fi series, Stargate SG-1 have had a great month. Not only has the show been picked up for a record-setting tenth season, but we at Diamond Select Toys have signed a license agreement to produce action figures and collectibles based on both Stargate SG-1 and its spin-off series, Stargate: Atlantis!

Our first action figure release will feature a core assortment with several retailer-exclusive variants. While we cannot announce the exclusive versions just yet, the first release will include action figures of Colonel Jack O'Neill, Dr Daniel Jackson, one of Apophis' Serpent Guards and a limited General Jack O'Neill figure. Images of the final approved figures as well as details concerning the exclusive offerings will be made available as the 2006 release date approaches!

Varese Sarabande have released the latest details of the artwork and track listing for their forthcoming 'Stargate Atlantis: Original Television Soundtrack.'
