Much better!
This episode uses at least two plots from the original series of Star Trek (and probably several other shows have used the same ideas as well). However, it was a pretty good episode. Yeah there were some stupid choices being made (letting John get imprinted with the second alien for one) in order to make the plot work, but they weren't as bad as they could have been. Yes battle between the last to surviving members from a war has been done many times but it did make for an entertaining hour.I loved the scenes between McKay and Caldwell! Those two were great. Snarky McKay to save the day again and bitching about it the whole way. Then there was the last scene in the infirmary between Elizabeth and John and then later Caldwell showed up. Am I the only person who had an "The X-Files" moment? That scene where Caldwell tells John and Elizabeth that he understands how they feel and the sense of unity between the three of them in that moment reminded me of Skinner with Mulder and Scully...All in all I thought this was a pretty good episode and a HUGE improvement over last week!
