Stargate Atlantis: The Chosen (Stargate Atlantis) (Stargate Atlantis)

The Stargate Atlantis team encounter a society where high priests of the local cult are able to protect the society from attacks by the Wraith by using technology left behind by the Ancients. However, the genetic ability to use the weapons has faded over successive generations, leaving the people increasingly vulnerable to attack. With the Wraith growing ever bolder in their attacks, the team must decide whether to inoculate the priests with a gene therapy which will restore their abilities, and also decide whether or not to withhold the therapy from the rest of the population in order to shore up the dominance of the high priests.

Community Update
Hey all, I apologize for letting things slip these last two weeks. Things have been difficult but I'm getting a hold of it all.

I'm going to try my best to upload the two new Atlantis episodes this evening, and I'll see about getting the two SG-1 ones up tomorrow... That's if YSI is being amicable.

While exploring the unused sections of the Ancient city of Atlantis, Major John Sheppard and Dr. Rodney McKay stumble on a recording device that contains a new Stargate address. The address leads them to a world with a mysterious ruined city that may be part of an Ancient repository, or it may just be yet another trap for the unwary.

Top five (Stargate Atlantis)

Top five
Five things I love about SGA? Only five? /g/

1. First off Rodney. I didn't care for him *at all* on SG-1. I thought he was a rude, arrogant, complete jerk. His brilliance was far outweighed by his arrogance. I wasn't at all happy to hear he was going to Atlantis. I watched anyway, and have done a complete turn around. Yes, he's arrogant, but he's also caring, and heroic, and funny, a romantic, and damned good at what he does. There aren't many characters I started out loathing, but ended up loving. Now I look for the snark with glee, wait for the cutting remarks, go all soft and gooey at the caring. I've loved watching the evolution of his character!

2. John. Where do I start? He's a hero, no doubt about it, but not in the regular sense. He's fallable, and dorky, and sexy beyond belief. I love how he tries to act so cool, but usually manages to screw it up with something silly. His sense of humor is right up my alley (Clowns!). He's sarcastic and sweet by turns. He goes from lovable to a warrior in a heartbeat. I think that's probably the one thing that I really love most about Atlantis. The characters are very 3-D for me, with multiple shades and nuances.

3. Ronan. I do miss Ford, but holy cow, they did well with his replacement! Ronan reminds me of a sleek tiger who can look utterly at peace then spring into action. His eyes go from soft and melty to hard and cold in a flash. He can take out five men in 15 seconds flat, or gently carry a child to safety. He's not bad to look at, either. *g*

4. Teyla. I adore her! She's often the voice of reason, the conscious of the group, yet she's every inch a warrior. She holds her own with the men, in fact, often exceeds them.

5. I love the whole thought of Atlantis! A new galaxy, an new threat, another 8 years of watching!

Four favorite scenes.

1. The Hive and the whole clown speech! Oh god, that just slayed me! *g*

2. Inferno, when John was prodding Rodney to fix the engines. He knew *exactly* how far and hard to push. I love the thought of them knowing each other so well. :)

3. The Tower during the dinner scene with the goose. The look on John's face was priceless.

4. Duet, when Rodney got the giggles and realized he was hypoxic. DH did a fabulous job with that.

Three favorite eps.

1. Inferno. I absolutely love watching disaster movies, so this ep was right up my alley! It would still have been a favorite without all the jealousy, but there was jealousy, and it made me very happy. Not to mention the laptop velcroed to Rodney's back! *giggles*

2. The Hive. Mostly for the clown scene, but I loved watching John get suspicious, and his timing while delivering the clown speech was perfect.

3. Aurora. We got to know the Ancients a bit better in it. And what exactly was John so charmingly offering to be released? Hmmmm? *g*

Two favorite lines of dialog.

1. This one was a no-brainer. From The Hive. The clowns? Oh, yeah, the clowns. We fight them too -- entire armies, spilling out of Volkswagens. We do our best to fight them off, but they keep sending them in.

2. The second one was the whole speech in Inferno, when John was prodding Rodney to fix the engines.

One drabble. Reposted here at
[info]thegrrrl2002's request.

It seemed like every time a new phase started in John's life, he was on his back. The last time had been in an alien chair, deep in an icy cavern in Antarctica, lights swirling overhead, the buzz of the Ancients' systems whispering inside his head.

Two years later he was on his back again, only instead of being surrounded by cold, he was engulfed by heat-- hot breath, a warm, soft tongue, sweat slicked skin underneath his hands. Rodney's eyes filled his vision, more intriguing than the lights, and instead of the buzz of machinery, he heard murmured endearments.

Stargate Atlantis: The Official Companion, Season (Stargate Atlantis) 1

Stargate Atlantis: The Official Companion, Season 1

First there was the blockbuster Stargate movie, then the smash hit TV series Stargate SG-1, and now there s the equally successful spinoff show: Stargate Atlantis!

A new Stargate team embarks on a dangerous mission to a distant galaxy, where they discover a mythical lost city and a deadly new enemy the Wraith. New characters, new planets, new alien encounters: but the same irresistible brand of Stargate adventure!

Here s the official companion to the first season, packed with behind the scenes interviews, an episode guide and scores of photos, including a 16pp colour gallery.
Customer Review: Good Stuff For Stargate Fans
One of my criteria for judging an episode guide is: Does it have anything to say about various minor recurring characters? Because typically I like them more than the main cast. So my question in reading this book was, did it find time to include an entry on Dr. Zelenka? Yes. Yes, it did. And all was right with the world.

This is a guide to the first season of "Stargate Atlantis", a spin-off, of course, to the popular "Stargate: SG-1" series. In this show, our group of heroes and heroines is stuck in the Pegasus Galaxy after a one-way transgalactic hop via a super-powered gate dial-out from the SGC on Earth. They hope to find the lost city of Atlantis, home of the long-ago-ascended Ancients, and find it they do. Unfortunately, they also discover that the Ancients bailed out of Pegasus some 10,000 years ago after accidentally creating their own nemeses in the form of the Wraith, who really enjoy treating humans as tasty lifeforce snacks. And while there are various human-settled worlds still to be found, not all of them are delighted to see the folks from Earth show up, especially once word gets around that the Stargate team sort of accidentally woke the Wraith back up way before schedule.

This book presents a brief summary of each episode of the first season, along with some minimal cast and crew notes. There's also commentary provided by cast and crew about what went on in the making of the episodes, what their original intentions had been, what worked and what didn't. There are brief character sketches of the main cast, which really have much more to do with details on the actors and how they got the roles and how they approach them.

Also included is a section on the development of the show and another on some of the departments or key players (stunts, production design) behind the scenes. A lot of photos are provided, mostly in black and white but a few publicity stills in color.

I had very low expectations for this book based on previous Stargate episode guides, but it very much exceeded them. It's not a classic of its kind nor indispensable, but if you're a keen fan of the show and you really want to know some of the details about what it takes to put together an episode, you won't be disappointed.

Nothing hurrendous, but bad all the same.

she glances at me, you seemed like you wanted to say something.

I stare at her for a long time. That goofy grin of hers graced her face, her way of relieving the tension. And then I start to laugh. Really, like a maniac. And then the tears begin to flow, and the laughing stops. There s nothing but anguish. I start to cry like a little kid. I pull at my hair and sob uncontrollably.

I did! I did okay? But I m not going to say it anymore! No one s gonna listen!

I'm not sure if I posted too much, because this is a little more than half of the entire story.

Favorite Zelenka Moments (Stargate Atlantis)

Favorite Zelenka Moments
I know, I know, I'm late. I missed the weekend - and Zelenka is one of my favourite characters!

If it's not too late, I wonder if you'd tell me your favourite Zelenka moments from the show. Any particular scenes that won you, that converted you into a Zelenka fan? Any scenes that are just perfect Zelenka moments?

My fave Zelenka scene is the one in "Letters from Pegasus", where he describes the rising of the city in loving detail - the entire monologue done in Czech. It was wonderful, because you didn't have to understand a word of the language to understand what he was saying. It was all conveyed with his eyes, his body, and the imagery they used. I love that scene.

Howdy
Hi all.

I just joined up here at the suggestion of a friend, because I've been looking for places to, well, essentially whore out my writings lol.

I write as much as humanly possible, and one of my projects is Stargate based, but not fanfic. So I'm not 100% sure this is the right place to mention it, but since McKay does feature, I guess it could be called a UA SGA fic... of sorts. It's essentially a Stargate Universe fic... sorry, I'm rambling.

Anyway, here's a link to the first chapter.

Title STARGATE: resurrection

Pointless James/'Lilly' crap? Yessiree. The author gets points for not ignoring Peter, but he wasn't in the first chapter and no way am I reading the second.

Lilly and James had just been to a 5 star restaurant in the heart of Hogsmead which for some reason Lilly had never noticed in her school years.
*
Lilly was really was very, very beautiful and perhaps the only person who didn t know who beautiful was Lilly herself!
*
She was average height and quite curvy really but in all the right places. Her most striking feature was her startling green eyes. She had long red hair that reached just below her arm pit. Tonight her red hair was a very striking against the shocking white of her dress; this dress was made of a floaty which ended just above her knee she was also wearing the very expensive charm bracelet James had got her for Lilly s 18th birthday.
*
Oh James I love you sooo, sooo. Oh James of course I ll marry you!!
*
He then produced a pen knife from his pocket and started scratching in the bench and as Lilly lent over his shoulder she saw next to the marauder inscription was:

James
Loves
Lilly He then surrounded it with a heart.

And on her profile:
I LIVE IN MANCHESTER ENGLAND AND AT THE MOMENT I'M WRITING A VERY MERRY MARAUDER CRIMBO AND ABSOULLOUTLY LOVE REVEIWS!!

Oh GOD. ILOVEPADFOOTANDPRONGS is in my city. *whimpers* I feel dirty.

Thank you again to my wonderful beta reader, [info]lvs2read for wading through the second half of this piece, which I wrote about 1 paragraph in each sitting. (Had some continuity problems. *grins*) Cross-posted all over the place.

Carson knew what he wanted the moment he saw Rodney McKay. Beautiful blue eyes. He had no idea about the man s sexuality, but then being a physician had its advantages. Rodney was always in the infirmary, complaining about some injury or illness bloody hypochondriac and Carson was always happy to indulge him. A seemingly innocent chance to touch him, the first step in the dance. Carson noted Rodney never saw Dr. Biro, the female physician, and that made him smile to himself. He wanted Rodney, but he could be patient.

Carson protested loudly enough every time Rodney hunted him down to sit in that bloody chair, but in the end he always let Rodney grab his arm and drag him to the thing. A delicate dance. Carson knew the rules of this game, even if Rodney hadn t figured them out yet: the more Carson protested, the more Rodney wanted only him in the Chair. Oh, he was every bit as afraid of the thing as he let on, the systems it controlled, but Rodney seemed to take a sadistic pleasure in his discomfort. It didn t matter there were other scientists who could work the thing better than he could. He smiled at the troubles Rodney went through to get him. He s learning his steps.

During the entire time they worked in Antarctica, the dance continued. Carson treated Rodney s wounds and illnesses, real and imagined, and Rodney hunted through the entire base to find Carson to initialize the Chair. He eventually demanded some sort of compensation for frayed nerves and time taken away from his own research. Rodney complained, saying Carson was simply doing what was expected of him since he was one of the few with the gene to activate Ancient technology. The next day, however, Rodney showed up in Carson s office with a cup of coffee, some packets of sugar, and little creamers, mumbling something about how he didn t know how Carson liked his coffee. Another set of steps in the dance, another movement in the symphony.

The dance continued a step added here and there. One day Rodney had been particularly demanding about Carson spending time in the chair, and Carson stormed off nearly as pissed as he pretended to be. Carson sat alone in the cafeteria absently playing with the lump the Air Force had dubbed meat loaf and the re-hydrated mashed potatoes when Rodney sat down with his own meal.

Carson, look I m, uh, sorry about this afternoon .I guess I expected you to be as excited as I was about the new feedback loop I was able to isolate while you were in the Chair it looks like that particular loop prevents the ZedPM from overloading, which is good to know considering if the ZedPM ever blows it will take out most of Earth. Every time you sit in it, we learn something new, and, uh, you ve been very instrumental in unlocking many of the Ancients secrets, and I guess I haven t told you how important you are to the research we re doing here, Rodney babbled.

Carson looked up and stared at him for a moment. Is tha your idea of a bloody apology, Rodney? If it is, it s a piss-poor one. D ya realize how many hours ya had me sittin in that bloody thing? Carson hoped he wasn t being too harsh on Rodney, until what he said sank in. Wha d ya mean, the bloody ZeePM could blow up most of the Earth? You had me sittin in tha Chair, and you didn t even know if there were failsafes?! Carson s voice rose an octave.

That s why I didn t tell you about it if you had known how much power was in the ZedPM, you never would have sat in the Control Chair, no matter what. I decided that the less you knew, the better off you would be, until we knew for sure there were failsafes we suspected they were there, the Ancients weren t stupid by any means, and why would they build something that could destroy the planet with a stray thought? You were perfectly safe, as was the planet, Rodney paused long enough to notice Carson s icy glare. Uh, I guess I m not making this any better, am I? I m sorry? Carson, you know I m not the best in social skills, and I m afraid that this is as good as it gets. Please don t stop being my friend. You re the only one I have, Rodney pleaded and cringed under Carson s gaze. Please, tell me what I have to do to make it up to you.

You dance so beautifully, Rodney. Ya can come by my quarters and bring some of that Godiva chocolate I know ya have stashed. An bring whatever DVDs ya ve managed to smuggle here, I ve not seen a decent film in bloody forever.

How do you know about never mind. Right. Chocolate and movies. I ll be there in say, half an hour, give you a chance to finish eating?

That ll be fine. If I m not there yet, let yerself in an I ll be along shortly.

Rodney finished eating quickly and left. Carson finished his meal more slowly before heading to the infirmary. He pocketed a tube of lube from the medical stores before heading to his quarters. He wanted to be certain he was late so Rodney was off-balance.

Carson walked into his quarters to see that he was sufficiently late. His quarters were Spartan at best, like everyone else s, and Rodney had done his best to make a comfortable area for watching movies. He had pulled the small table in front of the bed, so they both could sit on the bed and watch the laptop comfortably. There were two bags of Godiva miniatures, dark and milk. There were also two cups of coffee, and Carson guessed one was fixed exactly the way he liked it. He really is sorry about everything.

I wasn t sure which kind of chocolate you liked, so I brought both. Uh, I brought you a cup of coffee, too just the way you like it. The movies are a variety, some drama, comedies, a couple of romances. Your choice.

Why thank ya, Rodney, Carson said as he sat down to shuffle through the DVD choices. He pulled Monty Python s The Meaning of Life out of the stack. I ll let ya get this one started while I get us somethin else for the evenin .

Rodney put the DVD in the laptop while Carson went to his dresser and pulled out a bottle of scotch. He set it down with two plastic cups.

They re not crystal, but it s the best I ve got, he said as he poured a generous amount in each cup and handed one to Rodney.

They both settled in on the bed, propped up on a couple of pillows to watch the movie. They leaned against the wall, nibbling on the chocolate.

Rodney, why don cha get the bloody computer off the table, I can barely see the screen, an I don t want ta miss any of the good parts. Set it here on our legs, that s why it s called a laptop, right?

Oh, yes of course. It is kinda small that far away, isn t it?

Rodney hurriedly grabbed the laptop and set it on both of their legs, trying to hide his uneasiness as it forced them to sit closer together. He then started to babble about his favorite skits in the movie, and drank his scotch quickly. Carson smiled as he sipped his own drink, thankful he d seen the movie enough times to have it practically memorized. He deliberately brushed his fingers over Rodney s as he reached for some chocolate at the same time Rodney did. The symphony approaches its crescendo. Carson took the empty cups and set them on the night stand. He leaned a little more against Rodney as he settled back to watch the movie again. Rodney had grown quiet, and Carson could hear his breathing getting more rapid.

Carson turned, took Rodney s face in his hands and kissed him. At first Rodney s lips were closed, his body tense. Carson persisted; licking Rodney's closed lips until he gave a small moan, opening his mouth enough to allow Carson s tongue entrance. His hands left Rodney s face, slipping down his neck, one curling in the hair on the back of his neck, the other grabbing his shoulder. Rodney tentatively kissed back, entwining their tongues. Carson felt hands pressing into his back as Rodney fell into the kiss. The prelude ends, the real music begins.

Without breaking the kiss, Carson slid his hands under the pullover fleece Rodney was wearing, seeking out the warmth of bare skin. Rodney broke the kiss, pushing Carson away slightly.

What what are you doing? he asked breathless, staring into Carson s deep blue eyes.

Wha do ya think I m doin ? He kissed Rodney quickly. Ya know, for a genius ya can be awful dense sometimes, Carson purred in a low voice, hands still under Rodney s shirt, a wicked grin on his face.

I I know what you re doing but I ve, ah, he gasped as Carson tickled his side. I don t know what what you it s been so long...

All ya need to know is if you say Stop or No , I ll stop. Otherwise, ya need to stop thinkin so much. Carson leaned over and started to tease Rodney s earlobe, sucking and nipping it.

Oh, God oh, God please, don t stop!

Carson pulled away from Rodney long enough shut the laptop, put the chocolate back on the table, and turn up the space heater a little. He then grabbed the hem of Rodney s shirt, pulled it off, and pushed Rodney onto his back on the bed. Now to change the waltz into a Tango.

Ahh, so lovely, Carson whispered reverently as he straddled Rodney s hips, leaned over, and started to kiss him again. Rodney reached up to pull Carson s shirt free, but Carson grabbed his wrists and pinned them to the bed, over Rodney s head. He started to lick and nip every sensitive area on Rodney s neck, enjoying every moan and cry of pleasure.

Please, Carson oh, God let me feel you too many clothes, he panted.

I thought ya didn t know wha to do?

I know I want to feel you.

Carson sat up and let go of Rodney s wrists. He wanted to see what Rodney would do. He didn t have to wait long Rodney immediately scrabbled to pull Carson s shirt off, hands trembling. Carson laughed a little and helped him. Rodney looked at Carson in awe, his hands tentatively brushed Carson s chest and shoulders. Carson shifted his pelvis then gasped as Rodney grabbed his shoulders and pulled him down for a passionate kiss. This is not your dance to lead. Carson broke the kiss and licked his way down to one nipple, teasing it with the tip of his tongue while he rolled the other between his fingers. Rodney inhaled sharply and shuddered, unable to speak.

D ya like that? Carson asked innocently.

Oh, please don t stop, he begged.

Hearing Rodney beg underneath him was all it took for his resolve to crumble. Carson slid down Rodney s legs, unfastening Rodney s trousers and sliding them with his underwear off of his hips. Rodney scrabbled to kick off his shoes and trousers while Carson stood and removed the rest of his own clothing before resuming his position straddling Rodney s hips. He resumed teasing Rodney s nipples, relishing the wordless noises Rodney was reduced to. Carson slid down Rodney s body, brushing his hands over Rodney's chest as he kissed his way down toward Rodney s cock.

As Carson reached for the lube, he knelt between Rodney s legs and licked the tip of his cock. He immediately had to put both hands on Rodney s hips to keep him from thrusting into his mouth. He pulled his mouth away and Rodney moaned, having lost the ability to speak. Carson flipped open the tube of lube and slicked his fingers. He pushed Rodney s legs farther apart with his knees and teased Rodney s hole with his slick fingers. He barely slid the tip of a finger in, and then immediately pulled it out again, smiling at the whine that elicited.

Ya like that, then, Carson whispered huskily.

Oh please Rodney gasped.

Carson obliged, pushing one finger in with a single thrust, and then stilled it. Rodney dug his heels into the bed, arched up, and groaned. Carson slowly twisted his finger, brushing Rodney's prostate, sending a jolt of pleasure through him. He slowly withdrew the finger and pushed it back in. Rodney pressed his hands into the mattress, fingers clutching at the sheets as Carson inserted a second finger. You dance so well. He continued to press and stretch Rodney, who panted and writhed beneath him. Carson pressed his free hand down on Rodney s hip to keep him still, leaving marks that would soon bruise. He slipped his fingers almost all of the way out before adding a third finger and thrusting with his hand.

Rodney was reduced to making wordless noises. He released the sheets to try to touch Carson, who simply rocked back slightly, a wicked gleam in his eyes as he stayed barely out of reach. He pulled his fingers out, Rodney whimpering as he did. Carson slicked himself then slowly pressed into Rodney. He leaned forward, grabbing Rodney s hands and twining their fingers together. Carson brushed his lips across Rodney s before he deepened the kiss, thrusting his tongue into Rodney's mouth. He swallowed Rodney's moan as he slowly sheathed himself in Rodney. Carson fought for control as he stilled, resisting the urge to pound into Rodney, allowing him to adjust to the penetration. He looked into Rodney s crystalline blue eyes, seeing a mixture of emotions in them. Such beautiful eyes, ones that make the heart dance.

Are ya alright? Carson asked, his voice a mix of desire and concern. I m not hurtin ya, am I?

I m fine. I just...haven t done this in a while. Please don t stop, Rodney pleaded before raising his head to kiss Carson again.

Carson began moving his hips, slowly, teasing. Rodney wrapped his legs around Carson s waist, trying to pull him in deeper. Carson licked and nipped Rodney s neck, shuddering at the moans that danced across his ear. He increased his pace, locking eyes with Rodney, his breath taken away by the need and trust etched so clearly in his face. He leaned down even more, rubbing Rodney s erection between their bodies. An exquisite partner. Carson ran his tongue up Rodney s throat, feeling his pulse with his tongue. Rodney squeezed Carson s hands as his internal muscles clamped down on him.

Oh God, Carson, he chanted harshly.

Carson felt a warm wetness on his stomach as he thrust into Rodney one last time, throwing his head back and letting out a wordless cry. His entire body stiffened and he held Rodney s hands as if he would die if he let go. He finally relaxed and collapsed bonelessly as they rode out their final tremors together. Rodney s arms snaked around Carson s back, holding him tight as Carson rested his head on his shoulder.

That was beautiful. Ya looked so beautiful, Carson whispered into his ear.

That was amazing, Rodney murmured sleepily. He rolled them onto their sides and pulled the blankets up.

Carson smiled to himself as he drifted off to sleep in Rodney s arms. He had known exactly what he wanted, Dr. Rodney McKay, and Carson generally got what he wanted.

[General] They may not have tried to hurt him intentionally, but their actions could not have cut deeper than by confirming his suspicions he was tolerated because of the things he could do, but he had no real friends on Atlantis. When it had come time to prove otherwise, Rodney had stood alone against Greenwall.

Return to planet wet and rainy.

Elizabeth Weir sighed as Lt. Col. Sheppard and his team stepped through the gate followed by Dr. Beckett and Major Lorne and his team. She knew it was going to end badly, but retrieving some of the soil, or more importantly, finding the narcotic enzyme in the mud from PX-492 was a priority. It has been three interesting weeks since Carson had the opportunity to discover, after Ronon leapt off the center spire in a valiant attempt to fly only to land on the balcony on the next level, that the mud from PX-492 had medicinal properties.

Ronon then attempted to climb back up the tower with a broken ankle and a dislocated leg with no outward signs of pain, right in front of the main control room. Needless to say, he was taken to the infirmary where Carson set his leg and foot with no pain medication, which wasn t even needed because he was obviously already on something that had him high as a kite and feeling only slight irritation.

Then John s mission poem arrived. Elizabeth knew that John had been Mathematics major with a minor in English, but she had no idea he could be that sexually graphic yet make it sound like it came from Shakespeare himself. She had no idea that he would do that. People were still taping copies of it on every door, hallway, window, and especially on the desks of John, Rodney, and Carson. No issues came up though; it was mysteriously deleted from the mainframe two days before the Deadalus was in communication s range. And the entire time Col. Caldwell and his crew were in Atlantis, not a word of it was mentioned. At least until the Deadalus left, then it was back to catcalls and John biting into a turkey sandwich only to find his poem folded up inside.

It was the poem that cinched the deal. Colonel Sheppard s team was definitely on something. When Sgt. Stackhouse went to retrieve the colonel from his quarters he found him sitting on his bed, wearing absolutely nothing, typing a resignation letter reasoning that the military commander should not only use, but own a comb and recommending that Jack Skelington be the new mayor of the Atlantis cabaret. When Stackhouse tried to convince him to come to the infirmary and be check out by Carson Stackhouse only informed her, as he turned bright red and stared at the floor that the colonel seemed quite happy at the mention of seeing Carson, spit into his palm and started doing something inappropriate. Stackhouse seemed relieved when Elizabeth asked him not to mention this event, ever. John seemed relieved, and incredibly red, a day later when the official report was handed to him with one line defining his team s actions: unusual drug induced behavior that in no way disrupted the lives of those on this base.

It was a lie, Teyla, although not as exposed as the others, was a bit of a handful. Elizabeth was unable to get a straight answer from Dr. Zelenka on what happened exactly. Just that he had a hickey the size of a grapefruit; in fact, it mirrored the one that Elizabeth was hiding with a lot of makeup and her shirt collar

So here she is, watching the gate s connection disengage, and praying that they keep the damn biohazard suits on. Elizabeth simply cannot handle walking in on John, Rodney, and Carson sharing the same bed again. The one time in the infirmary was enough, although, she did have to admit that it was interesting seeing John and Carson leap out of Rodney s bed , leaving Rodney confused and obviously aroused. Maybe it was what John and Carson were doing to him that made him not hear her cough, made him snark at his soon to be lovers that they should keep touching him in an inappropriate manner. Elizabeth unsuccessfully tried to suppress a snort at the memory of John and Carson trying to get him to shut him up. It would have worked if Rodney wasn t Rodney.

-----==----

Rodney didn t like the idea of coming back to the planet that caused psychedelic mission reports. The planet hadn t changed from the last time they were there; only, it was raining harder and there was more wind, but with the biohazard suits it wasn t so wet. Rodney was bored and slightly nervous, but mostly bored. Rodney s idea of science did not include going to some backwater alien mud planet in an alien galaxy when he could be on another planet investigating some Ancient devices or in Atlantis doing the same. Anything would be a better contribution to science then taking two steps forward, bending down to swab some mud, putting said mud into a baggie, and placing the baggie in the case or backpack. This does not require the most brilliant mind in two galaxies. This doesn t even require the experience of the Chief Medical Officer. And why would anyone think the Commanding Military Officer was supposed to do this? Rodney comes to the conclusion that this is a job for flunkies.

Maybe the mission wouldn t have been so bad if they were just allowed to get some samples and go home. But no, Elizabeth saw this as an opportunity to properly document the phallic paint by numbers cave.

At an occurrence of about every thirty seconds, John, Rodney, and Carson all think they would rather be in bed, with each other and very naked. Something had to go wrong. It s the law of the all great Murphy. Something that would keep the three lovers from their nice warm, sticky, wrinkled sheets

Major Lorne was the first to show signs that maybe his biohazard suit had a hole in it. It might have been the way he recited various Dr. Sues limericks, each followed by a giggle fit that set off other team members, or maybe the way he grabbed Ronon s ass. Carson made a mental note to personally check all biohazard suits before anyone wore them ever again. When Lorne was finally convinced by a screaming McKay that he had in fact become affected, he simply looked at his commanding officer and said Now I get why you re always arguing with him. He s hot when he s pissed!

Really, the colonel should have reacted better, or at least less of a teenage girl who was sensing a cheerleader on her territory. You stay away from my man or I ll pull rank on you major! I don t care if you went on missions with SG-1! You stay away Marcus. The glare John sent him would make an Ancient run for cover. Unfortunately, Maj. Lorne is nowhere near as smart as an Ancient. This might be why the punch that followed the colonel s threat was met by a smirking face.

This was not John s best moment. Maybe it was a relapse. Carson considered that the mud could have somehow gotten into their suits, either they were all damaged, or the synthetic material couldn t stop the mud from hell as Rodney so eloquently named it. Carson prayed that he would get infected just so he wouldn t have to explain to Dr. Weir why the mission he suggested went to hell in less than three hours.

The only thought that passed through Rodney s head was that he liked it when John got jealous.

Sheppard and Lorne were finally separated. Actually, Rodney ripped his and John s protective hood s off and kissed him. Lorne just started giggling again perched on, or more accurately in, the mud. Lorne s team tried to get him to stop giggling and help him up, only when he tried to grip his teammate s hands; he pulled off their gloves and ripped their suits before accidentally pulling them face first to the ground. This was going to be a long mission.

I believe we should return to Atlantis and begin the detox procedures . When all Teyla received from John was a humph as Rodney was still attached to his face she continued. Sir, you, Dr. McKay, Maj. Lorne, and the rest of his team have been exposed to the soil containing the narcotic substance. Seeing that John was now ignoring her, she said, in a voice that meant would you just listen to me, you know I m right asshole, the only thing that could get him moving. Sir, unless you want to write another poem I suggest we leave.

This got John s full attention. This however caused Carson to double over only to fall in the mud laughing. It seems Carson s prayers were answered; he would not be the one to explain this. Carson s laughter subsided only when Rodney and John, ever so delicately, hauled him from the ground, each placing one of Carson s arms over their shoulders, and started dragging Carson in the general direction of the gate.

Ronon assumes that this sudden sobering of his male teammates was due to the sudden realization that they would not be treated by the good doctor, but by the very angry doctor with the tight bun with a tendency to perform overenthusiastic rectal exams. Ronon silently prayed those who showed signs of being exposed to the drug would take all of her time and attention, he saw her enough in his stint in the infirmary, while Carson was preoccupied with his new lovers.

The way to the Stargate was being led by Col. Sheppard and Dr. McKay, who were practically running, carrying a still giggling Dr. Beckett. Mjr. Lorne and his team were close behind with Ronon to their left. Teyla fell behind so she could keep an eye on all of the others, making sure none of them strayed off course. She was becoming very irritated.

DISCUSSION: Who is the cute Canadian technician?
I seem to be full of questions! Behind the cut, you will see two pictures of a cute Canadian technician who pops up not infrequently at the Gate Room controls. Does anyone know who this guy is? Does he have a name? Is anything at all known about him?

Are there fics about him??

I'd really love to know. :-)

Stargate Atlantis: Reliquary (Stargate Atlantis) (Stargate Atlantis)

While exploring the unused sections of the Ancient city of Atlantis, Major John Sheppard and Dr. Rodney McKay stumble on a recording device that contains a new Stargate address. The address leads them to a world with a mysterious ruined city that may be part of an Ancient repository, or it may just be yet another trap for the unwary.

Stargate - Stargate Atlantis: The Official Companion, Season 1

New Vid: Looking Through Your Eyes (Stargate)

New Vid: Looking Through Your Eyes
Pairing: Elizabeth/John
Song: Looking Through Your Eyes (Leann Rimes)
Spoilers: Season one and Seige Pt 3.
Link: Download from my journal.

About This Vid: Really, just because I love the song. When I started I was planning a simple romantic vid, but it turned into something a little more bittersweet, with Elizabeth left alone at the end. So, open to interpretation, I guess.

Fic: Attention to Detail 1/1 T (Kavanagh horror fic) (Stargate Atlantis)

Fic: Attention to Detail 1/1 T (Kavanagh horror fic)
Title: Attention to Detail
Author: Purpleyin

Rating: T
Spoilers: Up to Season 2 Critical Mass vaguely.
Warning: Multiple main character deaths, seriously, it's who doesn't die... and obviously there's some violence included in that, nothing particularly graphic, though the topic matter of not just death but murder is generally disturbing, so be forewarned.

Summary: (Written for fififolle) A Kavanagh-is-an-axe-murderer fic, because if people think he's so evil he might as well thoroughly be that at least once. ;) Also has a little Kavanagh/Simpson in a twisted way.

The Human Animal

Fic: Like, So Romantic (PG) (Warning! Badfic!)
Title: Like, So Romantic
Author: SGAtlantisLight
Characters: McKay, Sheppard, Emmagan, Dex, Beckett, Cadman
Relationships: Dex/OC
Rating: PG for icky image
Warnings: Badfic!!!. See the summary.
Spoilers: Small reference to Duet
Summary: A fic inspired by the horrible metaphors from high school essays posted in this post in [info]betagoddess's LJ.

Last chance to turn back

Fic: Sympathy for Eve, 4/? (PG)
Title: Sympathy for Eve, 4/?
Author: SGAtlantisLight
Characters: McKay, Beckett, Sheppard, Weir, Caldwell, Emmagen, Lorne, Zelenka
Relationships: McKay/Beckett
Rating: PG for this part, but the series is NC-17
Warnings: mpreg
Spoilers: None
Summary: Part 4 of the Sympathy for Eve series. When Rodney gets turned into a woman for a month, he decides to experiment, but little did he know it could have unforeseen consequences. Set somewhere in a nebulous third season after any cliffhanger-y stuff has been resolved.

Stargate Atlantis - Favorite Zelenka Moments

Coolest Ancient Thing (Stargate Atlantis)

Coolest Ancient Thing
To you, what's the coolest Ancient thing you've seen on the show?

For me, it's the architecture of the city itself. I love the whole gothic look to it, spires reaching to the sky, stained glass allowing light in but filtering it, colouring it. I'm in love with the look of that city.

Rodney McKay: Sex God (Stargate Atlantis)

Rodney McKay: Sex God
But before we get to that, I just realized that I haven't posted topics. My apologies

Next weekend we're doing Elizabeth.

The following weekend, the 28th-30th of April, we'll devote to That Cute Czech, Radek Zelenka.

The first weekend in May we'll talk about Teyla.

And the weekend after that we'll have an amnesty weekend for folks who had art work, fic, icons, etc that they wanted to share and didn't get finished in time.

Now, about Rodney, I expect some of you probably have quizzes, photo essays, or art all demonstrating why Rodney McKay is hot. I just have

First, there's the hands, broad hands with square tipped fingers that he simply can't seem to stop moving. Then there's the shoulders. Grrrl said to me once, way back in the early part of season one, "Do I have to explain to you how that man was made for cuddling?" She was right. He totally is--the broad shoulders, nice arms, squeezably soft tummy.

And, of course, the nipples. So tiny and perfect. And attention-seeking.

But it's not just the physical. There is something about the combination of arrogance and vulnerability that is very attractive. John hides much of himself, but Rodney exposes his emotions almost defiantly, as if to say, "This is who I am. You got a problem with that? No. Well, it wouldn't matter if you did." I'm not sure it wouldn't matter, but Rodney acts as though it wouldn't, except with John.

There is something about the play of emotions across his face that is almost mesmerizing. There are entire episodes in which I would be content just to watch his face.

And the hands.

So, what is it you all find hot about Rodney McKay?

Top 10 Sexiest Rodney Episodes
I've put together what I think are the ten sexiest McKay episodes. It's all subjective, of course, so if you have any episodes you'd like to add or you think that I've got them in the wrong order, feel free to let me know. Just like Rodney, I always enjoy hearing other people's points of view and getting different perspectives on a situation. Oh wait...

10. Sanctuary - Here we get to see Rodney do what he does best--be right. And that's hot. Sure, he didn't understand what he was right about until the end of the episode, but he had a bad feeling throughout the whole thing. We see him get frustrated (or jealous, depending on your ship preference) and then he gets to brood attractively while the others continue to be wrong, wrong, wrong. Plus, there's the added bonus of snarky Rodney in the beginning when he raises his hands and says, "Hi, Athar."

9. The Brotherhood - In this episode we have oblivious Rodney. Woefully oblivious Rodney. He's so focused on his work (hot!) that he doesn't notice the sexy alien backstabber flirting with him. Aside from that, we get to see him interact with Kolya again. Not only does he stand up to him, but he also does that impatient finger snapping/eye rolling thing to get a knife. So hot. And of course, once again, Rodney goes to another world for a few days and figures out a puzzle that has been thwarting the natives for 10,000 years.

8. Hot Zone - Throughout this episode, Rodney wears his now-famous tight blue zip up shirt, the one that is tight around his biceps, shows off his constantly erect nipples and hugs his soft belly. Scientists are dropping like flies, Rodney himself faces death by brain aneurysm with Ford and Zelenka to follow immediately after, but all I could think as I watched was, "Mmm...pretty." To make the episode even better, when Rodney believes he's going to die, he faces it with grace and the kind of gravity only achieved by the smartest people in the world trying to impart their knowledge before it's too late.

7. Trinity - There's something about obsessive, egotistical Rodney that I like. This episode was hard to watch the first time, but after that, I've been able to rewatch it and enjoy the look into Rodney's psyche. His attempt to do a good thing end with catastrophic consequences, but damn does he look good doing it. Plus, that slow smile at the end of the episode gets me every time. It lets you see just how worried Rodney was about not regaining John's trust.

6. The Defiant One - Brave Rodney has a way of getting under my skin. Here we see how brave Rodney has become since arriving on Atlantis. Dr. Gall explains it when he says that Rodney's changed. And he has. We see him wanting to get out and fight, wanting to back up Sheppard, a member of his team. More than that, we see a compassionate Rodney here. Gall's dying, and Rodney has the sense to muster up some tact and some mercy towards the poor man. Plus, him standing on that hill and saving Sheppard's life by shooting one shot after another at the Wraith is one of his sexiest moments in my mind.

5. Inferno - First of all, he has a lap top. Strapped to his back. A lap top! And it is so fun to see him get flustered around Norina and try to flirt again. Towards the end, when he sees that John is alive, he gets that relieved smile and then says, "What took you so long?" in that way that actually means, "Oh, thank god." The sexiest moment in this episode, though, is when he's explaining his plan to John, Carson and Norina: "It's plenty of time to open a hyperspace window." When he finishes his explanation, after the other three understand what he plans to do, you can see that any one of them would have gotten down on their knees right then and there if Rodney said the word. He once again saves their lives, and that's worth dealing with all of his bitching and complaining.

4. Duet - Shirtless Rodney? I mean, hello, do I have to go on? Yes, you say? Well then, how about that kiss for all of you Rodney/Carson shippers? Nice. And despite how cringe-worthy the date scene is with Katie Brown, you have to admit that Rodney looked damn good in the jacket he wore. It's not often that we see Rodney out of his offworld uniform or his scientist blues, so those times become even sexier. Plus, arms. Naked Rodney arms in close up. Yes, please. As disrespectful as Cadman acts in taking off all of Rodney's clothes without his permission, I'm still thankful for it.

3. The Eye - Again, here we have another case of brave Rodney. He steps in front of Elizabeth without even thinking about it. At the end he lies to Kolya saying he didn't rig the power generator to work when he really did. Denying his own genius in order to save Atlantis is almost more heroic than defending Elizabeth, at least in Rodney terms. And plus, throughout the whole episode we get wet Rodney. Mmmm....And when Sheppard races to reactivate the generators, we get wet and serious Rodney, with his pretty mouth all downturned and lovely.

2. Home - In Rodney's personal hallucation of home, we see him in his "I'm With Genius" t-shirt and boxer shorts. Now, despite the gratuitous naked thigh shots we get, I don't think that image is very sexy. What is sexy is when Elizabeth comes to the door and he hastily tries to get dressed, remarking sheepishly, "I'm not wearing any pants." I don't know why, but that moment always does it for me. I don't know if it's because we so rarely see Rodney sheepish or self-deprecating or if it's just the idea of Rodney not wearing pants that makes me enjoy that scene so much. Furthermore, later on in the hallucination Rodney wears a button down shirt which, oh yeah, definitely works for him. It suits his frame and his build and the color looks good too. All around very, very sexy.

1. Grace Under Pressure - Ok, so he goes a little crazy and he has a nasty (and fake-looking) head wound, but GUP is still the episode where I think that Rodney looks the sexiest. Most importantly, we get to see him kiss! And not that awkward Cadman-as-Rodney kissing we saw in "Duet," but a real passionate, desperate kiss with someone whom he's had a crush on forever. True, it's only in his mind, but that's not how we see it. When Rodney starts to lose hope, all of that hurt/comfort potential nearly destroys me. He looks so sad and defeated that you want to hug him (or make out with him madly). Additionally, there's more wet Rodney to ogle, but to add to the wet Rodney goodness, there's lots of hand gesturing and playing with his control pad to appease the hand porn contingent. This episode also has the best example of Rodney's long, unnaturally sexy eyelashes that so many people in fandom rave about. Whether it's the lighting or the reflection from the water or the close-up shots, we see a lot of Rodney's eyelashes. GUP isn't without the snark either. The teaser scene makes me laugh every time. First you have Rodney correcting, "He was Italian" in that way which really means, "I can't handle living in this world when I know there are people as stupid as you out there." And then a few moments later he loses his short temper and declares that he's one of the "Barcelona McKays." So funny, so Rodney.

A Challenge to kick off Weir Weekend!
.
Elizabeth Weir+Power=OTP, Discuss

As the leader of the Atlantis Expedition, Elizabeth Weir is bound to come across some issues with power.

As a woman in charge, some of those issues are bound be a bit different. But what about those issues with power unique to the character of Elizabeth Weir?

I'd like to see folks' thoughts on the relationship of Power/Weir: in fic, in meta, in images (art, icons, screencaps, etc.).

Post your links to reponses to this challenge in the comments to this post at my lj.

All entries are due by June 1. On June 2, I'll post a message with links to all the entries at [info]advent_atlantis for all to see.

Stargate Atlantis - Stargate Atlantis: Rising (Stargate Atlantis) (Stargate Atlantis)

Stargate Atlantis: Rising (Stargate Atlantis) (Stargate Atlantis)

Atlantis will rise again

Following the discovery of an Ancient outpost buried deep in the Antarctic ice sheet, Stargate Command sends a new team of explorers through the Stargate to the distant Pegasus galaxy.

Emerging in an abandoned Ancient city, the team quickly confirms that they have found the Lost City of Atlantis. But, submerged beneath the sea on an alien planet, the city is in danger of catastrophic flooding unless it is raised to the surface. Things go from bad to worse when the team must confront a new enemy known as the Wraith who are bent on destroying Atlantis.

Stargate Atlantis is the exciting new spin-off of the hit TV show, Stargate SG-1. Based on the script of the pilot episode, Rising is a must-read for all fans and includes deleted scenes and dialog not seen on TV with photos from the pilot episode.
Customer Review: A fun read
I love Stargate Altantis, the show is smart and fun. The novelization of the pilot "Rising" is just the same. There are wonderful "inside their heads" moments for almost every character. This book is a quick, fun read, with lovely color photos in the center of the book.
The book is true to the script, which means that certain scenes are played out in a slightly different order than you see them in the aired pilot. Some lines are spoken by different people so that might be a little jarring if you've watched it as many times as I have. There are a few very good scenes that are not in the show that are in this book that I really liked.

So if you like novelizations, I hightly recommend this one. If you've never read one, this would be a good one to get. And if you've never seen SG-Atlantis, who knows, it might peek your interest in a really well made show.
Customer Review: Really enjoying this novelization!
I am currently reading Sally Malcolm's novelization of the Stargate Atlantis pilot episode, "Rising". I am a huge fan of this show and, therefore, very particular about the way the characters are portrayed in stories. I am finding that Ms. Malcolm has a very good grasp of the characters from the show. She writes them well and has, as far as I've read, kept the characters true to the premise of the tv show. She also has added some wonderful insights into the characters that would help explain the story to those readers who are not as familiar with the tv show. I would definitely recommend this book and I also hope that Sally Malcolm will write more Atlantis novels!
